U.S. Spouse Visa

U.S. Spouse Visa

January 14, 2018katsmanImmigration, Law ChangesNo Comments

For hundreds of years, the U.S. has been the land of dreams and opportunities for millions of people. The country is built upon immigration with people from every part of the world moving there in hopes of a brighter future.

U.S. immigration has always been a mutually beneficial thing, both for the country and the immigrants. While immigrants get an opportunity to build a better and more comfortable life, U.S. has been able to import skilled workers, businesses and resources that boosted the economy.

Lately however, the U.S. dream has been falling apart as the government, media and general public’s mood has swung away from allowing an open immigration policy.

One group that has been affected by this mood swing is spousal visa applicants.

There are plenty of reasons behind the shift in U.S. immigration policy. The country didn’t go from an immigrant welcoming country to an immigrant blocking country over night. A lot of this has to do with media bashing of immigrants coming to the country.

But some of the reasons are also because of genuine concerns that the U.S. immigration policies are being abused to let in illegal and unqualified immigrants. There is also an element of human trafficking involved.

If you actually look at the U.S. immigration policies and requirements from an expert view, the immigration process is actually being streamlined and standardized to make it easier.

A large number of unqualified consultants were involved in moving illegal immigrants into the country such as fake parents, siblings or children. Similarly, a number of people were abusing the spousal visa system through ‘paper marriage’ scams.

The tightening of U.S. immigration policy is actually aimed at countering these illegal practices which were actually doing more harm than good to genuine cases applying for spouse visa. Experts believe that by removing the illegal and fake cases from the pool of applicants, the acceptance rate of genuine cases is expected to go up with significant decrease in processing times.

However, a lot of people have experienced quite the opposite and even genuine cases for U.S. visa have been delayed or rejected.

The reason behind delays and rejection of genuine cases is due to lack of knowledge. Even a large number of immigration consultants are not aware of documentation requirements and visa rejection appeal process to remedy incorrect refusals and applicants are left frustrated.

If you are looking to apply for a U.S. spouse visa or have been wrongfully denied a genuine case then you should into hiring a good and experienced consultant. Good consultants have a competent team of legal experts, specialized in US immigration law. A good consulting team can speed up your processing time or get incorrect decisions reversed.
