Due to a number of controversies and shifting demographics, the U.S immigration policies have become tougher and more stringent than they were 20 years ago. This has especially been true since the 2008 financial crises that shook up the country’s economy.
In recent years, however, the U.S. economy has shown signs of warming up. With the country’s economy looking to heat up again, experts believe that the demand for migrants will also increase.
Still, the one thing that has negatively affected the U.S. immigration policy is the election of Donald Trump. The Republican Party of USA is known for its conservative views on immigration opposed to the Democratic Party which has a more liberal perspective.
One of the key promises made by the current President of the United States was to cut down on immigration and lower the number of people coming into the country significantly.
If we examine the policies implemented by the government so far, they do not seem to have been very actually effective in lowering immigration. The U.S. authorities do seem to have scared away legal and genuine migrants into the country but the space has been filled up by illegal migrants.
Yet, despite the increasing regulations, millions of people are still migrating to the U.S. legally every year. Most of the migrants belong to student, skilled worker or spouse category. As the conservative administration continues to roll out new immigration policies it can be assumed that the number of migrants to the USA in these categories might drop.
There is one group however which has not been and will not be negatively affected. The investor class applying for visa seems to be the least affected.
Donald Trump and the Republicans, despite their dislike for foreigners, are quite receptive to businesses activity and entrepreneurs. The U.S. authorities understand that in order to keep the U.S. economy booming, they must rely on foreign investors.
Immigrants coming under investor category bring valuable capital and finance into the country to start new businesses which create jobs and stimulate the economy. Many of these investors also bring new technology and methods that improve the efficiency of U.S. economy.
This is the reason why the investor class will continue to receive favorable regulations by the U.S. authorities in the future.
The investor category does have some tough entry criteria though. First of all you need to have a brilliant business plan. Second you need to show that you have significant funds available that you intend to invest in the country. Third, your business plan must show that it will create a specific number of jobs in U.S.
If you think you can fulfill these requirements and wondering how to apply for the investor visa category, a skilled immigration consultant can help you with documentation and greatly improve your chances of being accepted.
